RM2P RECRUITING PROFILE STATEMENT

It is very important that you create your recruiting profile as early as possible. We advocate using what we have branded as the Recruiting Triad™ which highlights your Academics, Athletics and Intangibles. How you convey this information to recruiters and coach’s is basically your decision. We have had success using Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Social Media platforms are a good “free” resource that you should take advantage of. We will create a Facebook page with the information that you provided during the “sign up” phase. You are NOT required to use it, but you can use it to effectively market your Academics, Athletics, and Intangible to potential colleges. Here’s a breakdown of the RM2P Recruiting Triad™.

Academics includes information like you GPA, ACT/SAT test scores, anticipated test/retest dates, class raking, graduation dates, etc. Athletic information will often depend on your particular sport. Not all sports are focused on the same performance criteria. You should at this point know how athletes are graded in your particular sport, at a minimum, provide your height and weight. Other criteria will vary depending upon your sport. For example, football recruiters will likely be very interested in your 40-yard dash, wing span, bench press and vertical jump statistics just to name a few. You should understand what the critical personal stats are for your sport and be prepared to provide those numbers to recruiters. The most overlooked and least understood recruiter criteria are the intangibles. Intangibles include everything related to you as a person like character, integrity, work ethic, social media accounts etc. Remember that all internet and “cyber content” can be used against you, so make sure that it’s ONLY positive information. While “intangibles” may NOT be seen as traditional recruiting criteria, we have found that more and more they are being used to make decisions about prospect recruits. Additionally, think about what your coaches and teachers would say about you when asked, and they will be directly asked. Sometimes it’s not what is said, but what is NOT said that sends the message to recruiters that you’re probably not be a “good fit” for their program. We’ll talk about this important topic throughout this site. We recommend that you include your parents and coaches in all of your plan to communicate with college recruiters and coaches.
